Job summary

RTX in Honolulu seeks a Senior Infrastructure Systems Administration Engineer to support a government program platform environment. The role focuses on Linux-based operations, COTS implementations, and private cloud environments using VMware or AWS.

The candidate will manage complex on-prem systems, ensure security posture, and work with the security team to meet DISA STIGs, with a target to obtain Security+ within 90 days. U.S. citizenship and TS/SCI clearance required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of STEM experience with emphasis in CS/CE/IT.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI poly; U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Experience in daily system operations and maintenance and use of administration tools.
• Experience in network designs and security postures.
• Experience in SAN/NAS structures.
• Experience implementing DISA STIGs.

Job Summary

Senior Infrastructure Systems Administration Engineer – key contributor to supporting our government Customer’s program platform environment operation and design. This role supports a Linux‑based environment with hands‑on experience in COTS implementation, systems administration, network systems configuration, systems security implementation, and private cloud environments using tools such as VMware or Amazon Web Services.

Responsibilities

• Support the hardware infrastructure, including systems administration, networks, and overall system security posture for complex on‑premises compute environments that form the backbone for operational deployment of a critical, strategic national asset.
• Communicate any risks or issues involving system performance, availability, or security.
• Work processes with the team to address fixes while ensuring that all changes follow the project’s change‑management processes.
• Support system configuration and deployment.
• Assist with system networking.
• Support COTS product installations.
• Provide hands‑on experience with Linux and/or Windows system administration.
• Collaborate with the systems security team.
• Obtain CompTIA Security+ certification within 90 days.

Basic Qualifications

• BA/BS degree and 5+ years’ experience in STEM with emphasis in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology.
• Active and transferable TS/SCI with CI poly U.S. government‑issued security clearance required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Experience in daily system operations and maintenance and use of administration tools.
• Experience in network designs and security postures.
• Experience in SAN/NAS structures.
• Experience with implementing DISA STIGs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with applications and administration of networks, storage, and virtualization (VMware).
• Experience scripting in Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby, or others.
• Experience with command line.
• Experience in Java, Jenkins.
• Experience in system live operations.
• Experience in DevOps/DevSecOps system development.
• Experience with implementing private cloud environments.
• Experience with automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack.
• Experience with containerization (Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher).
