Job summary

CA CI - Senior Infrastructure/System Administrator position in Sterling, VA. You will design and oversee cloud and on-prem infrastructure, spanning AWS services, Linux and Windows servers, and automated tooling.

Responsibilities include scaling, securing, and documenting environments; enabling CI/CD pipelines with GitLab/GitHub Actions; and collaborating with development teams throughout the system lifecycle to deliver reliable, efficient solutions for national security missions.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance (willing to obtain a polygraph).
• Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years as an IT system administrator or related role.
• Deep AWS core services knowledge and hybrid networking experience.
• IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation; CI/CD tooling experience.
• Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server administration; scripting in Bash/Python/PowerShell.

Senior Infrastructure/System Administrator

Responsibilities

• Support the design, security and maintenance across the cloud and hybrid/cloud computing environments that power our software development lifecycle.
• Act as a critical bridge between system operations and development teams, managing a robust infrastructure that spans AWS cloud services and on-premises data centers.
• Manage a highly available, scalable, and automated environments, ensuring developers have the secure access, CI/CD tools, and computing resources they need to build, test, and deploy code efficiently.
• Perform systems design, development, and integration throughout the entire system life cycle.
• Implement moderately complex infrastructure, including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Conduct systems modeling, simulation, and analysis to optimize performance and efficiency.
• Maintain robust security measures, including backup and redundancy strategies.
• Prepare and comprehensive documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.

Qualifications

Required:

• Active TS/SCI security clearance (Willing and able to obtain a polygraph)
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, a relevant field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years as an IT system administrator, or related experience.
• Technical understanding of: Cloud Infrastructure: Deep expertise in AWS core services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, and Systems Manager (SSM). Hybrid Networking: Proven experience configuring AWS Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPNs, and hybrid DNS architectures. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on proficiency with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to provision multi-environment stacks. CI/CD Platform Support: Experience maintaining and scaling the infrastructure for GitLab CI or GitHub Actions. Operating Systems & Scripting: Advanced administration of Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments, utilizing Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation.
• Demonstrated proficiency as a Linux system administrator.
• Scripting and coding skills, particularly in Python, or similar languages.

Desired:

• Expertise in operational support and system maintenance.
• Familiarity with Containerization & Orchestration, managing native Kubernetes clusters and AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) or native Kubernetes clusters with Ansible automation.
• Certifications (Preferred): AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
• Experience with automation and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, virtual networking)
