Job summary

CACI is seeking an Infrastructure/System Administrator SME in Sterling, VA, to design and manage cutting-edge architectures for intelligent systems. You will coordinate development, security, integration, and testing across cloud and on‑prem environments, supporting AWS services and hybrid networks.

You will bridge operations and development, ensuring scalable, automated, and secure infrastructure with CI/CD tooling. A TS/SCI clearance is required, with polygraph as a potential next step.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance (Willing and able to obtain a polygraph).
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience as an IT system administrator, or related experience.
• Deep expertise in AWS core services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, and Systems Manager (SSM).
• Experience with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to provision multi-environment stacks.
• Experience maintaining and scaling infrastructure for GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
• Advanced administration of Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server, with automation via Bash, Python, or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Maintain highly available, scalable infrastructures with secure access, CI/CD tooling, and compute resources for code deployment.

• Conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis to optimize performance and efficiency.
• Maintain robust security measures including backup and redundancy strategies.
• Prepare documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, security and maintenance across the cloud and hybrid/cloud computing environments that power our software development lifecycle.
• Act as a critical bridge between system operations and development teams, managing a robust infrastructure that spans AWS cloud services and on-premises data centers.
• Manage a highly available, scalable, and automated environments, ensuring developers have the secure access, CI/CD tools, and computing resources they need to build, test, and deploy code efficiently.
• Perform systems design, development, and integration throughout the entire system life cycle.
• Implement moderately complex infrastructure, including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Conduct systems modeling, simulation, and analysis to optimize performance and efficiency.
• Maintain robust security measures, including backup and redundancy strategies.
• Prepare and comprehensive documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, a relevant field or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 7 years' experience as an IT system administrator, or related experience.
• Technical understanding of: Cloud Infrastructure: Deep expertise in AWS core services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, and Systems Manager (SSM). Hybrid Networking: Proven experience configuring AWS Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPNs, and hybrid DNS architectures. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on proficiency with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to provision multi-environment stacks. CI/CD Platform Support: Experience maintaining and scaling the infrastructure for GitLab CI or GitHub Actions. Operating Systems & Scripting: Advanced administration of Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments, utilizing Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation.
• Demonstrated proficiency as a Linux system administrator.
• Strong scripting and coding skills, particularly in Python, or similar languages.

Desired

• Expertise in operational support and system maintenance.
• Familiarity with Containerization & Orchestration, managing native Kubernetes clusters and AWS EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) or native Kubernetes clusters with Ansible automation.
• Certifications (Preferred): AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
• Experience with automation and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, virtual networking)
