Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an infrastructure engineer to support our client's aerospace and air traffic technology operations in Olathe, KS. The role covers the complete IT infrastructure stack and will be the primary operational owner on site, handling monitoring, incidents, changes, patching, backups, and vendor coordination with Dell, Cisco, Fortinet, VMware, and Microsoft.

This is a 3-year contract with potential conversion to permanent.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of enterprise infrastructure administration.
• Windows Server, Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, SCCM/MECM.
• Enterprise SAN storage (PowerStore preferred).
• Cisco switching, VLANs, Routing fundamentals.
• SQL Server operational support.
• Excellent communication, ability to work independently, strong documentation habits and vendor case management.

Responsibilities

• Administer the full infrastructure stack at the client site.
• Respond to monitoring alerts and incidents; implement approved changes and patches.
• Perform preventative maintenance and manage backups/recovery.
• Open and manage vendor support cases with Dell, Cisco, Fortinet, VMware, and Microsoft.
• Serve as the day-to-day technical presence and primary operations owner on site.
• Collaborate with manufacturing plant teams and communicate effectively with vendors.

Job description

Location: Onsite 5 days a week in Olathe Kansas -

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central, occasional after-hours response - on call shifts

Duration: 3-year contract - potential conversion before 3 years is up

Conversion Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 k on salary

Must-haves:

• 7+ years of enterprise infrastructure administration
• Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), DNS, DHCP, SCCM/MECM
• Enterprise SAN storage (PowerStore preferred)
• Cisco switching, VLANs, Routing fundamentals, Switch upgrades
• SQL Server operational support
• Excellent communication, can work independently, strong documentation habits , and comfortable opening and driving vendors support cases

Nice to have skills:

• Experience being the primary administrator or sole administrator in a previous role
• FortiGate or other enterprise firewall administration
• Cisco ISE , Juniper networking, Mist Wireles, SD-WAN, MPLS, NIST 800-53, PCI DSS, SOC 2 and VMware VCF/VCF

Day to Day:

Insight Global is looking for an infrastructure engineer to support our client's international aerospace and air traffic technology manufacturer local to Olathe, KS. The facility's complete IT infrastructure (compute, storage, virtualization, network, security, backup, and Microsoft platform services) was implemented by the client's international engineering teams and enters production at the beginning of September. We are looking for a candidate who will be the primary operational owner of the environment. You will serve as the day-to-day technical presence at the client site. You will administer the full infrastructure stack, respond to monitoring alerts and incidents, execute approved changes and patching, perform preventative maintenance, operate backup and recovery, open and manage support cases with vendors (Dell, Cisco, Fortinet, VMware, and Microsoft). We are looking for someone with experience in systems administration and infrastructure support. Someone who has served as the primary administrator in a previous role. Experience specific to Windows, Active Directory, VMware, Cisco switching, and Linux administration is preferred. Someone with experience in a manufacturing plant will stand out. This person should have strong communication skills, proven experience to work independently and comfortable driving vendor communication. This role is a 3-year contract with potential conversions on site 5 days a week in Olathe, KS.
