Job Overview
Howard Technology Solutions is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Solution Architect with a Cisco certification focus to lead enterprise infrastructure design and high-impact pre-sales architecture engagements across campus, data center, WAN, wireless, and security domains. This senior-level, customer-facing role requires deep expertise in Cisco networking platforms, architectures, and enterprise solutions, combined with strong consultative selling and executive communication skills.
The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted technical authority, partnering with enterprise customers, sales leadership, and delivery teams to design scalable, secure, and resilient Cisco-based infrastructure solutions while driving best practices, solution governance, and practice maturity.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead enterprise infrastructure solution design using Cisco routing, switching, wireless, security, and data center platforms.
- Partner with sales teams and customer stakeholders to translate business and technical requirements into Cisco-centric architectures.
- Develop and present solution architectures, technical proposals, BOMs, and Statements of Work (SOWs).
- Conduct executive briefings, technical workshops, whiteboarding sessions, and proof-of-concept engagements.
Enterprise Consulting & Technical Strategy Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers modernizing campus networks, WAN architectures, security frameworks, and data center environments.
- Perform network assessments, architecture reviews, and technology roadmap development.
- Communicate advanced technical concepts to CIOs, IT leadership, and engineering teams in clear, business-aligned language.
- Provide technical leadership across multi-vendor enterprise environments, integrating Cisco with Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and other ecosystem technologies.
- Drive Cisco best-practice adoption, scalability planning, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
Design and validate enterprise-class architectures, including:
- Cisco campus and core switching (Catalyst, Nexus)
- Routing and WAN solutions (BGP, SD-WAN, segmentation, MPLS integration)
- Wireless and mobility platforms (Cisco Wireless, Meraki)
- Security architectures (Firepower, Secure Access, Zero Trust, NAC, SASE)
- Data center networking and ACI environments
- Hybrid and multi-cloud networking integrations (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Provide technical leadership across multi-vendor enterprise environments, integrating Cisco with Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and other ecosystem technologies.
- Drive Cisco best-practice adoption, scalability planning, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
Business Development & Sales Enablement Leadership
- Support strategic enterprise pursuits through technical differentiation and Cisco solution positioning.
- Lead customer demonstrations, architecture presentations, and technical validation sessions.
- Deliver internal enablement and training sessions on Cisco platforms, architectures, and competitive positioning.
Thought Leadership, Documentation & Mentorship
- Develop enterprise architecture standards, Cisco reference designs, and solution frameworks.
- Create technical documentation, best practice guides, and reusable solution templates.
- Mentor engineers, architects, and pre-sales team members on Cisco technologies and design methodologies.
- Champion continuous improvement and innovation across the Digital Infrastructure practice.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in consulting, solution architecture, or senior engineering roles.
- Extensive pre-sales and Cisco infrastructure design experience with a proven ability to align complex solutions to business outcomes.
- Expertise in enterprise networking, security, data center, cloud, and software-defined solutions.
- Experience working in multi-vendor environments and integrating Cisco solutions into broader enterprise ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of automation, orchestration, cloud networking, SDN, and hybrid architectures.
- Proven ability to deliver executive-level presentations and influence strategic decisions.
Preferred Certifications
- Cisco CCIE (Enterprise, Security, or Data Center) — Highly Preferred
- Cisco CCNP (Enterprise, Security, Wireless, or Data Center)
- Aruba: ACX (Advanced), ACSX, ACDP, ACEP
