Job summary

BlackSky, a real-time intelligence company, seeks a Senior Software Infrastructure Engineer in the Seattle/Tukwila area. You will own end-to-end build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure; collaborate across teams to deliver mission-critical software tools and device emulation environments. Strong Python/Bash, Linux, and CI experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• At least six (6) years delivering and maintaining commercial/embedded software in production.
• Expertise in Python and Bash.
• Experience with version control and CI.
• Expertise with build tools and pipelines (Git, GitLab, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Jira).
• Expertise with Linux toolchains and environments (Gnu toolchain, QEMU, Buildroot, Yocto).
• Experience working in Agile/SCRUM.
• Proven on-time, on-budget delivery; strong root cause analysis and communication.
• Ability to work across teams with minimal supervision; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage build systems, CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS.
• Lead in standups, sprint planning and tasking using Jira in an Agile-like environment.
• Collaborate with ESG software teams and cross-functional engineers to deliver reliable infrastructure and tools.
• Ensure documentation, testing, inspection and analysis meet requirements and goals.
• Contribute to flight software design, development, unit tests and release processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
