Qualifications

• 7+ years in enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, compute or data-center engineering.
• Hands-on with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
• Experience with SDDC Manager, NSX, VCF Operations and VCF Automation.
• Hands-on Cisco UCS and Cisco Intersight experience.
• Experience supporting enterprise data center infra: compute, networking, storage, hardware.
• Experience with upgrades, migrations, lifecycle mgmt, capacity planning, DR, and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of infrastructure security, hardening, vulnerability remediation, and high-availability practices.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, configure, upgrade, and support enterprise VMware Cloud Foundation environments (VCF, ESXi, vCenter, NSX).
• Maintain highly available VMware environments and manage HA, DRS, vMotion and related features.
• Lead VCF lifecycle activities: upgrades, patching, compatibility validation, firmware coordination, remediation.
• Design and support Cisco UCS X-Series infrastructure using Intersight, including fabric interconnects and service profiles.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across virtualization, compute, network, SAN, storage, and hardware.
• Lead data center infra initiatives: deployments, migrations, hardware refreshes, capacity planning, decommissioning.
• Collaborate with Network, Storage, Security, DevOps, Backup, Database, and Applications teams on infra projects.
• Monitor health, performance, capacity; identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
• Support security hardening, CIS benchmarks, vulnerability remediation, access controls, and configuration standards.
• Support disaster recovery infra, recovery testing, and integration with backup technologies.
• Provide Level 3/4 escalation support, runbooks, and technical standards; participate in after-hours on-call.

POSITION SUMMARY

Bayview is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer (VCF/VMware) to provide hands‑on engineering and technical leadership across our enterprise virtualization, compute, and data center infrastructure.

This role requires strong experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vSphere/ESXi, vCenter, NSX, SDDC Manager, VCF Operations, Cisco UCS, and Cisco Intersight. The engineer will support infrastructure design, implementation, lifecycle management, capacity planning, automation, migrations, disaster recovery, security remediation, and complex troubleshooting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Engineer, configure, upgrade, and support enterprise VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments, including ESXi, vCenter, SDDC Manager, NSX, VCF Operations, and VCF Automation.
• Maintain highly available VMware environments and manage HA, DRS, vMotion, Storage vMotion, host profiles, templates, and resource allocation.
• Lead VCF lifecycle activities, including upgrades, patching, compatibility validation, firmware coordination, and remediation.
• Design, configure, and support Cisco UCS X-Series/UCS 9508 infrastructure using Cisco Intersight, including Fabric Interconnects, service profiles, vNICs/vHBAs, VLANs, VSANs, firmware, and LAN/SAN connectivity.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across virtualization, compute, network, SAN, storage, and hardware infrastructure.
• Lead data center infrastructure initiatives, including deployments, migrations, hardware refreshes, capacity planning, lifecycle management, and decommissioning.
• Partner with Network, Storage, Security, DevOps, Backup, Database, and Application teams on infrastructure projects and operational issues.
• Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and capacity and proactively identify bottlenecks, risks, and optimization opportunities.
• Support infrastructure security hardening, CIS benchmark compliance, vulnerability remediation, access controls, and configuration standards.
• Support disaster recovery infrastructure, recovery testing, and integration with backup technologies such as Rubrik, Veeam, or Commvault.
• Provide Level 3/4 escalation support, lead root‑cause analysis, and develop technical standards, architecture diagrams, procedures, and troubleshooting runbooks.
• Participate in after‑hours maintenance and on‑call escalation as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of enterprise infrastructure, virtualization, compute, or data center engineering experience
• Strong hands‑on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
• Experience with SDDC Manager, NSX, VCF Operations, and VCF Automation
• Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco UCS and Cisco Intersight
• Experience supporting enterprise data center infrastructure, including compute, networking, SAN, storage, and hardware
• Experience with infrastructure upgrades, migrations, lifecycle management, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and complex troubleshooting
• Understanding of infrastructure security, hardening, vulnerability remediation, and high‑availability practices
• Strong documentation, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills

LOCATION AND COMPENSATION
