Job summary

Eightelevengroup seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support its Data Center Automation initiative. This fully remote role focuses on ensuring infrastructure readiness for deployments across on‑premises and cloud environments.

You will troubleshoot connectivity, firewall rules, authentication failures, and access permissions, coordinating with networking, security, and IAM teams in a regulated enterprise setting, without writing automation code.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of hands-on infrastructure experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience administering and troubleshooting Linux and/or Windows servers.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, DNS, routing, and firewall concepts.
• Experience coordinating firewall rule requests and network access changes.
• Experience managing accounts, permissions, and authentication configurations (RBAC/IAM/AD/LDAP/SSH).
• Understanding of infrastructure security controls and enterprise change-management processes.
• Experience troubleshooting production infrastructure issues with cross-team coordination.
• Experience with VMware or similar virtualization platforms.

Responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot Linux and/or Windows server infrastructure across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
• Investigate connectivity issues that prevent automation platforms from communicating with servers.
• Diagnose network, DNS, firewall, routing, and authentication issues to identify deployment failures.
• Submit and coordinate firewall rule changes, network access requests, and security approvals.
• Configure and troubleshoot user permissions, service accounts, RBAC, and authentication methods.
• Coordinate with IAM and security teams to resolve access restrictions.
• Support infrastructure readiness for deployments managed via Ansible and Terraform.
• Troubleshoot server configurations, OS issues, and virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V).
• Follow enterprise change-management and security procedures when making changes.
• Document troubleshooting steps and share knowledge with junior engineers.
