Job summary

Google LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Infrastructure, Platforms Infrastructure Engineering to design, build, and maintain large-scale infrastructure and distributed systems.

You will collaborate across teams to drive architecture, implement robust software, and ensure high reliability for Google’s infrastructure at global scale. This role emphasizes leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and delivering scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience programming in C++, Python, or Go.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• 3 years of experience developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field (preferred).
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Write and test product or system development code.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices.
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product updates.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing issues affecting hardware, network, or service operations.
