Job summary

BranCore Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support and enhance its hybrid infrastructure environment in the Richmond, VA area. The role involves on-site work 1-2 days per week after initial training, with a contract length of 10 months and potential extension based on project needs.

The engineer will manage Windows Server environments in both on-premises and cloud settings, perform upgrades and patching, and lead server migrations.

Qualifications

• In-depth hands-on Windows Server experience in hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud).
• Strong track record with OS upgrades, patching, and testing.
• Experience developing and using PowerShell scripts for automation.
• Server migrations and workload transitions from on-prem to cloud.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows Server environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Perform OS upgrades, patching, testing, and updates for reliability and security.
• Develop and use PowerShell scripts and automation tools for centralized tasks.
• Lead server migrations and workload transitions to cloud platforms.
• Implement security configurations, endpoint protection, access controls, and hardening standards.
• Manage patching cycles and use SCCM or similar for deployment and reporting.
• Oversee backup operations and disaster recovery planning.
