Qualifications

Job Overview

CALIBRE is an employee-owned mission focused solutions and digital transformation company. We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and secure cloud-native and Kubernetes-based platforms for government clients. This role includes supporting Spectro Cloud Kubernetes installations in classified and air-gapped environments. You will be instrumental in building and automating Linux and hybrid cloud infrastructure to enable secure and scalable mission outcomes.

This position requires up to 50% travel to support customer sites and deployments across the United States.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architect and deploy secure, scalable Linux and Kubernetes infrastructures for government environments.
  • Guide client teams on cloud adoption, infrastructure modernization, and DevSecOps best practices.
  • Implement automation using Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD tools to streamline infrastructure operations.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks such as STIG, RMF, and related DoD requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize performance across complex, distributed systems.
  • Mentor client teams on Kubernetes operations, infrastructure automation, and secure cloud practices.
Requirements:
  • Strong experience in Linux infrastructure and cloud-native environments
  • Hands-on Kubernetes administration (2+ years)
  • CI/CD pipeline development and management (3+ years) using GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc.
  • Automation expertise with Ansible, Terraform, Python, and Bash
  • Experience securing and troubleshooting distributed systems
  • Knowledge of DoD security frameworks (STIG, RMF)
  • Strong communication and mentoring abilities
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ or equivalent)
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with Spectro Cloud Kubernetes
  • VMware and Windows infrastructure in hybrid environments
  • Familiarity with RMF and ATO processes
  • Certifications such as CKA, CKAD, RHCE, AWS, Azure
  • GitOps tools (ArgoCD, Flux)
  • Exposure to edge computing and air-gapped deployments
