Job summary

Axion is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to shape and scale our cloud infrastructure. You will design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate deployment workflows, and ensure system reliability and security across fast-paced product teams.

You will own our Kubernetes-based orchestration and Terraform infrastructure-as-code, enabling developers to ship faster while maintaining observability and cost discipline.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with GCP services (Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub).
• Proficiency with Kubernetes cluster management, networking, scaling, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Axion's cloud infrastructure on GCP with high availability and security.
• Own and evolve Kubernetes-based platform and Terraform IaC practices.
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for fast, reliable shipping.

About the role

We're seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to play a key role in shaping and scaling our cloud infrastructure. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating deployment workflows, ensuring system reliability and security, and supporting rapid development cycles. This is a hands‑on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment and is excited to build foundational DevOps systems from the ground up. You'll work closely with engineering leadership to drive infrastructure decisions and enable product teams to ship faster with confidence.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Axion's cloud infrastructure on GCP, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security
• Own and evolve our Kubernetes-based container orchestration platform and Terraform infrastructure-as-code practices
• Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and deployment automation to help engineering teams ship with speed and confidence
• Establish and maintain observability across our stack — logging, metrics, alerting, and tracing — and lead incident response efforts
• Define and track SLOs and SLIs, driving a culture of reliability and continuous improvement
• Contribute to security hardening, compliance posture, and cost optimization across our cloud environment

What you'll bring

• 4+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering
• Deep hands‑on experience with GCP (Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, or similar services)
• Strong proficiency with Kubernetes — cluster management, networking, scaling, and troubleshooting
• Solid Terraform experience — writing modular, reusable, production‑grade infrastructure‑as‑code
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling
• Strong background in observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent)
• Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments with a bias toward action
• Ability to participate in a shared on‑call rotation to support production systems.

Bonus points

• Experience using agents to accelerate delivery
• Experience managing infrastructure for FedRAMP environments
• Experience at a venture‑backed startup
