Probook, an NYC-based AI operating system startup, seeks its first dedicated Infrastructure Engineer to lay the foundation for scalable, real-time AI products.
You will own production infra, build agent tooling, and support distributed systems while collaborating with product and engineering to ship high-impact capabilities.
Join a fast-growing team backed by top investors and help define the infrastructure that enables rapid AI deployment.
Probook is building the AI Operating System for home services.
Home services is a $750B+ industry, yet many of its most important operational decisions are still made manually. Dispatch is one of the clearest examples - every day, dispatchers make thousands of decisions about which technician should be assigned to which job, balancing urgency, skill set, location, availability, job value, and other variables in real time.
We’re building systems that can reason through that complexity and act on it in real time. Rather than adding AI to individual features, we’re building a vertically integrated operational layer across dispatch, validation, customer communication, and other core business functions.
Today, Probook powers leading home service businesses across the country, helping them automate and coordinate these workflows through a single system.
We’re backed by Sequoia and Andreessen Horowitz, revenue is scaling rapidly, and are building one of the most talent-dense engineering teams in New York.
We’re looking for our first dedicated Infrastructure Engineer to build the foundation for the next generation of products and engineering at Probook. This is a high leverage role that will allow us to unlock our next stage of development and scaling.
Our products are real-time decision systems that operate across complex, time-sensitive workflows. As they continue to evolve, so do the challenges around durable execution, workflow orchestration, reliability, observability, and performance. In other words, the infrastructure underneath becomes a core part of what we’re able to build and our biggest differentiator.
As an agent-native engineering org, that extends to how we build as well. You’ll build agent infrastructure that lets engineers develop, evaluate, and ship faster - from agent sandboxes and evaluation infra to custom harnesses, coding-agent fleets, and agent orchestration.
This role will sit across both product and agent infrastructure. You’ll own the production infrastructure for our operational AI products while also experimenting with models, harnesses, and the systems that further unlock how our engineering team works. That’s what makes this role different from your typical Infrastructure role - you’re not just scaling or maintaining existing systems - you’re creating the technical foundation that unlocks us and lets us build more ambitious products and ship them at unprecedented speed.
There’s a lot of greenfield work here. You’ll have broad ownership over what we build, what we improve, and how our infrastructure evolves as the company scales.
Breadth of work: Rather than owning a slice of infrastructure, you’ll work across the whole stack (above: developer tooling, sandbox environments, infrastructure migrations, observability, reliability, cloud optimization and AI infra) as the company grows
Modern Infra Problems: You’ll have the opportunity to build infrastructure that supports agent development and deployment to directly enable business outcomes
Early Ownership: As our first dedicated Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll help establish many of the systems and tooling the engineering team relies on and own them end to end.
The Tailwinds: $750B industry with clear tailwinds: AI adoption, labor shortages, and generational transitions creating demand for operational modernization. We are defining the category, not fighting for share.
Funding: $40M raised from Sequoia and Andreessen Horowitz.
The Team: >80 people and becoming one of the most talent-dense startups in NYC (MIT, Harvard, Waterloo, Citadel, Palantir, Rippling, 3x ICPC World Finalists, IMO Platnum Medalists).
