POSITION SUMMARY - REMOTE
Cloud5 is a leading provider of High-Speed Internet, CloudPBX, and Contact Center solutions for the hospitality industry. As part of a growing initiative to deliver Managed Services (desktop, server, and POS endpoint management) to our hotel customers, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer will play a key role in the design, implementation, and ongoing support of this platform.
This role will support the deployment and optimization of RMM tools, patch management solutions, cloud-based backups, antivirus, and endpoint protection. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer serves as a senior technical escalation point and drives continuous improvement initiatives across client environments. The ideal candidate is skilled in automation, standardization, and infrastructure resiliency, with a strong foundation in hospitality IT.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Infrastructure Oversight: Monitor and maintain the IT environment, ensuring uptime and performance across servers, networks, and endpoints.
- Project Execution: Execute infrastructure projects from design through implementation, ensuring alignment with hospitality-focused requirements.
- Automation & Resilience: Design and deploy standardized, resilient platforms capable of scale with minimal manual intervention.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Serve as a senior-level escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
- Security Management: Collaborate with SOC vendors and internal teams to identify, remediate, and document security vulnerabilities.
- Vendor Coordination: Work with offshore vendors and service providers to manage patching and remediation services.
- System Optimization: Use management and ticketing systems to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for system-wide improvement.
- Documentation: Maintain technical documentation for system configurations and architectural standards.
- Capacity Planning: Forecast infrastructure needs based on usage metrics and client growth projections.
- Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams and contribute to the adoption of best practices in IT delivery.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8–10 years of experience in IT infrastructure roles, with a focus on complex environments and high-availability systems.
- Proven expertise with:
- Windows Server and Active Directory
- Microsoft Azure and cloud-based infrastructure
- VMWare administration and optimization
- Patch management and vulnerability remediation (ConnectWise preferred)
- RMM platforms, backup solutions, and endpoint protection tools
- Switch/router configuration and network troubleshooting
- Security best practices (e.g., SOC, PCI compliance)
- Experience with automation tools and scripting (PowerShell preferred).
- Hospitality industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator/Architect, Cisco CCNA, or VMware VCP are advantageous.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work extended periods at a PC.
- Occasional after-hours work, including weekends, may be required.
- Travel up to 25%.
