Our client, is a well-established managed services organization seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (L3) to serve as the top-tier escalation resource across complex client environments. This role combines advanced infrastructure engineering, project delivery, technical leadership, and client-facing problem solving, with a strong focus on virtualization, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, identity, backup/DR, and security.
What You’ll Do as a Sr Infrastructure Engineer:
- Serve as the final internal escalation point for complex infrastructure, Microsoft 365, virtualization, and identity issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis and drive permanent corrective actions for recurring technical issues.
- Architect, deploy, and support VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper‑V / Azure Stack HCI, and related compute environments.
- Manage Microsoft 365 environments including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune, Defender, Purview, and compliance tools.
- Design and support Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD, hybrid identity, MFA, conditional access, AD Connect, and identity governance.
- Engineer and maintain Active Directory forests, domains, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, certificate services, trusts, and replication.
- Lead infrastructure migrations, tenant-to-tenant migrations, hardware refreshes, datacenter consolidations, and backup/DR initiatives.
- Scope and deliver client infrastructure projects from design and SOW through implementation and support handoff.
- Create architecture diagrams, build documentation, runbooks, and knowledge‑base content.
- Mentor L1/L2 engineers and provide technical peer review, training, and escalation support.
- Participate in scheduled after-hours maintenance and an on‑call rotation as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of progressive IT infrastructure engineering experience, including 2+ years in an MSP, consulting, or multi-client environment.
- Strong VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper‑V / Azure Stack HCI administration experience.
- Advanced Microsoft 365 administration skills, including PowerShell and familiarity with Microsoft 365 admin centers.
- Deep Active Directory and Entra ID engineering experience, including hybrid identity and AD Connect.
- Strong Windows Server, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and certificate services knowledge.
- Hands‑on experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery platforms such as Veeam, Datto, Cove, or Azure Site Recovery.
- Solid networking fundamentals including VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and SD‑WAN concepts.
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automation and bulk administration.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
