Job summary

Seattle Art Museum seeks a Senior Systems & Networking Administrator to lead SAM’s global infrastructure across Downtown, Volunteer Park, and Olympic Sculpture Park. You’ll own production servers, Hyper‑V, backups, and network security, while mentoring a Junior Admin and building critical documentation.

Responsibilities include managing Tessitura integration, Cloudflare protection, and cross‑site disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in CS/IT or related field.
• 5+ years in systems and network administration (Windows/Linux).
• Experience with production-scale server virtualization (Hyper‑V/VMware).
• Experience with enterprise networking, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless.
• Strong documentation and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer on‑prem servers (Windows/Linux) and ~60 VMs on Hyper‑V.
• Maintain backup/recovery stack and test restores.
• Design and maintain enterprise network (firewalls, VPN, Juniper, Mist).
• Mentor Junior Systems & Networking Administrator; ensure knowledge continuity.
• Create and maintain runbooks, diagrams, and SOPs; cross‑train staff.
• Lead infrastructure projects with vendors and cross‑department coordination.
• Manage on‑call rotation and maintenance windows.
• Ensure security best practices and access controls across all sites.
