Job summary

Capital One in Plano, TX seeks a seasoned Information Security consultant to help advise and steer initiatives across infrastructure, data security, and risk management. You will collaborate with IT and business teams, promote security by design, and communicate risks to executive leadership to support strategic objectives.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in cybersecurity, strong leadership, and the ability to translate complex security concepts into actionable guidance for diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of experience in cybersecurity or information technology.
• At least 5 years of guidance and oversight of security concepts.
• At least 5 years of experience performing security risk assessments and architecture reviews.
• At least 5 years of experience with architecture, software design, networking or Cloud infrastructure.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Act as a central Information Security point of contact for Enterprise Platforms.
• Coordinate and execute proactive Information Security consulting for Infrastructure Security, Resiliency, Data Security, Network Architecture and User Access Management.
• Serve as an expert in Capital One’s Information Security capabilities, policies, procedures and standards.
• Influence customers to leverage security capabilities and shift left in development processes.
• Escalate and manage cyber security risk.
• Provide ad hoc support on Information Security topics for the business.
• Provide regular updates to executive leadership on overall Information Security health and risk.
• Work with leadership to anticipate objectives and needs to better serve the line of business.
