Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico seeks an Information Systems Architect to translate complex security requirements into high‑performance hardware and software solutions. You will lead end‑to‑end system design, integration, and testing, with feasibility studies and technology evaluations for secure intrusion detection and access control systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IS/MIS/CS/CE/IT or equivalent and 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance
• Designation/certifications in security, architecture, cloud, and governance are highly desirable
• Experience translating business needs into technical solutions and defining integrated hardware/software architectures
• Experience coordinating design and integration of information systems across sites

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into technical solutions and define solutions to business problems.
• Determine integrated hardware and software architecture solutions to meet performance and security needs.
• Design, develop, and analyze overall architecture of internal systems, including hardware and software.
• Conduct strategy studies, requirements specs, and feasibility studies, communicating requirements to management.
• Coordinate design and integration of information systems across all Sandia sites.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems / MIS / CS / Computer Engineering / Software Engineering / Information Technology

Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance
