Job summary

U.S. Bank seeks an Information Security Risk Oversight Professional to provide independent risk oversight across the enterprise Information Security program.

The role tests assumptions, translates technical concerns into risk insights, and supports senior leadership with evidence-based recommendations. With 8+ years in information security or related risk disciplines, the candidate will operate across domains, remain objective, and communicate complex risk in executive-ready language while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Typically, more than eight years of applicable experience in information security, technology risk, audit, engineering, architecture, or risk management.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CRISC, or CISM are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight and credible challenge across information security pillars including governance, risk assessments, security architecture, controls, metrics, and issue management.
• Analyze technical designs, security processes, control environments, risk assessments, and evidence to identify gaps and emerging risks.
• Formulate independent risk opinions supported by evidence, regulatory expectations, and professional judgment.
• Challenge inefficiencies and misaligned practices to improve risk outcomes.
• Evaluate alignment of first line activities with laws, regulations, and internal risk appetite.
• Monitor risk indicators, security metrics, incidents, and trends to identify material risk and escalation needs.
• Escalate material risks and control weaknesses through appropriate governance channels.
