Senior Information Security Architect (Remote)

Overview

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States, with the ability to travel to Raleigh, North Carolina; Phoenix, Arizona; or Morristown, New Jersey, on an as-needed basis.

This position is responsible for delivering architecture intent to enterprise stakeholders and the Information Security organization at-large, ensuring the secure realization of business initiatives aligned with the Bank’s current and future risk appetite.

Responsibilities

• Security Strategy: Assist in designing and implementing security strategies for assigned domains and Information Security overall, based on knowledge of the domain, bank policies, standards, regulatory requirements, threats, and risks.
• Security Architecture: Review existing and proposed architectures, identify security gaps through threat modeling and risk assessments, and recommend improvements. Continuously enhance processes for scale, consistency, and repeatability.
• Solutions Architecture: Serve as a solutions architect for security solutions, providing initial architecture, assisting with integrations, and leading implementation.
• Business Support: Act as a Subject Matter Expert, providing advisory and consulting services, and effectively communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Continuous Education: Stay informed about developments in technology, security threats, and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to influence security strategies and establish secure design patterns.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience in IT and Security OR High School Diploma/GED and 14 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years in security architecture in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Experience with threat modeling (e.g., PASTA, STRIDE, DREAD) and risk assessment.
• Knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, COBIT, ISO, CIS, CSA CCM).
• Familiarity with architectural frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, DODAF, Zachman).
• Understanding cyber-attack taxonomies (e.g., CAPEC, ATT&CK).
• Advanced certifications like CISSP or CISM are highly desirable.
• Experience with scripting or programming.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong interpersonal, strategic planning, and analytical skills.
• Experience in Large Financial Institutions is a plus.
