Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years cybersecurity experience with BS/BA; 10 years with MS/MA. Degree in computer science, engineering, or cybersecurity. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Active CISSP certification.
• Hands-on security architecture and engineering across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Experience interpreting NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5 controls and translating regulatory requirements into engineering solutions.
• US Citizenship and ability to pass California background clearance before starting work.

Responsibilities

• Own secure architecture; design and review architectures, security patterns, and proposed solutions across cloud/on-premises environments.
• Translate controls into engineering configurations and automated controls.
• Lead security engineering across IAM, network, endpoint, cloud, and application security.
• Own scanning strategy, risk-based prioritization, and remediation validation.
• Assess gaps, develop remediation strategies, and support CMS Authority to Connect readiness.
• Provide senior technical QA and mentorship; review assessments, policies, and artifacts.
• Advise on incident response, detection, and post-incident analysis; participate in on-call rotation.

Education

BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or Cybersecurity

MS/MA preferred
