Job summary

City of Alexandria is seeking a Senior Therapist / Infant / Child Development Clinical Specialist to deliver clinical assessment, intervention, and support services for families with children 0-3. Position emphasizes supervision of practicum students and collaboration with Service Coordinators within the Part C framework.

Requires a Master’s degree in a relevant field and VA licensure eligibility; experience with infants 0-3, and ability to engage diverse families.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Education or related field.
• Licensure or license eligible as VA LPC, LCSW, LSATP, or Clinical Psychologist; must obtain VA licensure within 1 year of appointment.
• At least one year of experience providing intervention to infants 0-3 and ability to work with diverse families.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessment, intervention and services to families of children ages 0-3.
• Serve as clinical supervisor for practicum/intern students.
• Coach and guide Service Coordinators to promote development and family supports.
• Ensure IFSP development and adherence; coordinate with multidisciplinary team.
• Prepare professional reports for families and providers.
