Job summary

Responsibilities
  • Be knowledgeable in technical design concepts, code applications, design management skills, digital technologies, and design workflows for industrial‑type facilities.
  • Lead owner/client and internal meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
  • Lead project teams with varied levels of experience to successfully complete and deliver construction documents and intermediate milestone deliverables.
  • Work with the Project Manager to proactively manage scope and schedule.
  • Manage and undertake design activities and the production of detailed documents required for construction.
  • Independently coordinate the work of a multidisciplinary team through all phases of a project.
  • Review architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
  • Perform QA/QC and cross‑discipline technical reviews.
  • Write and edit architectural specifications.
  • Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders.
  • Incorporate agreed‑upon changes into project documents.
  • Provide construction observation and contract administration as needed.
  • Conduct work sessions at project site in conjunction with client representatives, project managers and other disciplines.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant prior experience in industrial architecture (data centers, water treatment facilities, public utility facilities, operations centers, aerospace, manufacturing, etc.).
  • LEED Accreditation with experience and/or interest in sustainable design.
  • Experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff.
  • Experience facilitating meetings with a range of stakeholders (engineers, client, contractors, subcontractors, AHJs, etc.).
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or closely related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Registered Architect.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficient in Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and processes.
  • Demonstrated graphic presentation skills.
  • Must have experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant in our employee‑owned culture is a must.
