Job summary

KOHLS is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to efficiently coordinate repairs and perform equipment and facility maintenance in a cost-effective manner at our Canal Winchester facility.

You will inspect and repair conveyor systems, HVAC units, air compressors, and fire protection equipment, while maintaining parts inventories and providing on-the-job training to associates. This is an on-site role requiring own tools.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment.
• Compliance with MSDS standards and lock-out/tag procedures.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must provide own basic set of tools and keep the work area neat and clean.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspection and repair of all conveyor systems and equipment.
• Routine inspection, preventative maintenance of air compressors, compactors, bailers, cardboard conveyors and power handling equipment.
• Perform inspection and repair of fire protection equipment.
• Parts administration.
• Meet with supervisor/manager to plan future preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate with managers to address mechanical opportunities while ensuring productivity.
• Provide back-up for Manager when absent.
• Maintain inventory records and reports.
• Provide on-the-job training to Associates.
• Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs, painting and office furniture moves.
• Maintain lighting throughout the facility.
• Assist outside contractors to perform duties.
• Respond promptly to jams or maintenance-related issues.

About the Role

As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you will efficiently coordinate and implement repairs and perform equipment and facility maintenance in a cost-effective manner.

What You’ll Do

• Daily inspection and repair of all conveyor systems and equipment
• Routine inspection, preventative maintenance and maintenance of air compressors, compactors, bailers, cardboard conveyors and power and material handling equipment
• Perform inspection and repair of fire protection equipment
• Parts administration

• Meet with department supervisor and/or manager to anticipate and plan for future preventive maintenance
• Collaborate with department managers and supervisors to address mechanical opportunities while ensuring optimum processing productivity
• Provide back-up for department Assistant Manager and/or Manager when absent
• Compile and maintain accurate inventory records and reports
• Provide on-the-job (OJT) training to Associates

• Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs, painting and office furniture moves
• Perform routine maintenance on heating and air conditioning units
• Maintain lighting throughout the facility

• Assist outside contractors to perform various duties
• Promptly answer calls for jams, malfunctions or other maintenance-related issues
