Job summary

KOHLS in Ohio seeks a Senior Maintenance Technician to coordinate repairs and perform facility maintenance cost-effectively. You will inspect and repair conveyors and related equipment, maintain HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, and support inventory control and on-the-job training.

You will work with supervision to anticipate maintenance needs, collaborate with managers to improve productivity, and provide backup management coverage when needed.

Qualifications

  • Must demonstrate working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC equipment.
  • MSDS standards and lock-out/tag procedures compliance.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must provide own basic set of tools and keep work area neat and clean.

Responsibilities

  • Daily inspection and repair of conveyor systems and equipment.
  • Preventative maintenance for air compressors, bailers, cardboard conveyors, and material handling gear.
  • Inspect and repair fire protection equipment.
  • Maintain accurate parts and inventory records; provide on-the-job training to associates.
  • Lead back-up support for department manager when absent.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to plan future preventive maintenance.
  • Assist external contractors as needed and respond to jams or malfunctions.

Shifts:

Monday-Thursday 2pm-12am

Monday-Thursday 10pm-8am

Friday-Sunday 6pm-6am

About the Role

As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you will efficiently coordinate and implement repairs and perform equipment and facility maintenance in a cost-effective manner.

What You’ll Do
  • Daily inspection and repair of all conveyor systems and equipment
  • Routine inspection, preventative maintenance and maintenance of air compressors, compactors, bailers, cardboard conveyors and power and material handling equipment
  • Perform inspection and repair of fire protection equipment
  • Parts administration
  • Meet with department supervisor and/or manager to anticipate and plan for future preventive maintenance
  • Collaborate with department managers and supervisors to address mechanical opportunities while ensuring optimum processing productivity
  • Provide back-up for department Assistant Manager and/or Manager when absent
  • Compile and maintain accurate inventory records and reports
  • Provide on-the-job (OJT) training to Associates
  • Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs, painting and office furniture moves
  • Perform routine maintenance on heating and air conditioning units
  • Maintain lighting throughout the facility
  • Assist outside contractors to perform various duties
  • Promptly answer calls for jams, malfunctions or other maintenance-related issues
