Job summary

Rand Whitney Industries in Worcester, MA is seeking a Master Mechanic to maintain manufacturing equipment and facility systems. You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC-related, and basic electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support production with high reliability.

Requires 4–6 years in industrial maintenance and a high school diploma; preferred training or certification in maintenance.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; apprenticeship or technical training preferred.
4–6 years of industrial maintenance or manufacturing maintenance experience required.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems; PLC-related and automation knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform advanced troubleshooting and maintenance to maximize operational reliability.
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, PLC-related, and electrical issues using test equipment and data.
Execute preventive and predictive maintenance per schedules and equipment requirements.
Conduct emergency maintenance to minimize downtime and restore performance.
Inspect, disassemble, rebuild, and install components meeting safety and quality standards.
Fabricate or modify parts using machine shop tools and measuring devices as needed.
Keep accurate CMMS records, work orders, and equipment history.
Monitor inventory and coordinate procurement of replacement components.
