Job summary

First Point Group is seeking a Senior Occupational Hygienist to lead IH activities for a major lithium mining project in northern Nevada. You will identify health risks, implement exposure monitoring, and ensure regulatory compliance while integrating IH across ES&H with construction, commissioning, and contractor teams.

The role requires hands-on IH expertise, strong field experience, and ability to influence safe work practices on large industrial operations.

Qualifications

• Education: Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a BS with 8+ years.
• Demonstrated occupational exposure assessment and IH monitoring experience.
• Field experience in mining, metals, chemical processing, or major construction projects.
• Experience with sampling methods, equipment, and data interpretation.
• Regulatory knowledge: familiarity with occupational health regs and project standards.
• Ability to perform risk assessments and recommend controls.
• Strong technical report writing, data management, and presentation skills.
• Stakeholder engagement and ability to influence safe work practices.
• Proficiency with office software and technical reporting tools.
• Field readiness to work outdoors, varying shifts, and travel to remote sites.
• Licensing: CIH or CSP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead IH activities: implement programs, procedures, and exposure controls across construction areas.
• Assess health risks from airborne contaminants, dust, noise, and chemicals.
• Plan field inspections, environmental sampling, exposure monitoring, and assessments.
• Translate regulations and standards into practical field controls.
• Integrate IH requirements into work plans with engineering and construction teams.
• Contribute to IH plans, risk assessments, reports, and training materials.
• Review exposure data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
• Participate in investigations of health concerns and propose preventive measures.
• Provide technical guidance on exposure prevention and controls.
• Support emergency preparedness and health incident management.
• Collaborate with ES&H to improve overall health, safety, and environmental performance.
