Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Tucson, AZ, is seeking an Industrial Engineer to optimize factory performance and throughput. You will apply Lean and Six Sigma methods, develop value streams, and model capacity to enable efficient production of defense and aerospace components.

The role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, CAD-based layout design, and continuous improvement to meet cost, quality, and delivery goals. A strong engineering background and security clearance readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 6 years with a Master’s degree.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar engineering discipline.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Capacity Modeling, Facility Design, or Process Optimization.
• Ability to obtain Interim U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date.
• Ability to obtain and maintain ATF clearance.

Responsibilities

• Model factory operations by generating process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings.
• Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.
• Apply Six Sigma and Lean principles to improve efficiency and meet cost, quality, and on-time goals.
• Draft infrastructure investment roadmaps and plan integration of new products and equipment.
• Lead cross-functional teams to address obsolescence and improve factory performance.
• Support new production contracts and product integration efforts.
• Improve factory safety and work cell ergonomics.
