Job summary

Helion is launching a new, highly automated distribution center in Villa Rica, GA and seeks an experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to finalize its operational design and prepare the site for startup. You will lead hands-on work with operations, engineering, and systems teams to map product flow, optimize processes, and ensure readiness before go-live.

The role emphasizes distribution, warehousing, process design, and automation, with a focus on designing layouts, workflows, and documentation

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Industrial/Distribution Engineering experience.
• Strong background in warehouse, distribution center, or logistics operations.
• Experience with data analytics and creating process documentation/SOPs.
• Experience with SAP Warehouse Management (SAP WM) or similar WMS.
• Exposure to warehouse automation and material handling systems.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations, systems, automation vendors, and engineering teams.
• Continuous improvement mindset and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of parcel packing stations and distribution workflows.
• Develop dock layouts based on projected inbound/outbound volume.
• Create process flows for international receiving operations.
• Develop detailed SOPs and standard work for warehouse operations.
• Analyze data to identify capacity, bottlenecks, and labor needs; drive improvements.
• Support startup readiness and commissioning of the new DC.

Senior Industrial Engineer – Distribution Center Startup

Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site

Experience: 5+ Years

We are supporting the launch of a new, highly automated distribution center in Villa Rica, GA and are looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer to help finalize the facility's operational design and prepare the site for startup.

This is a highly hands‑on role for an engineer with strong distribution, warehousing, process design, and automation experience. During the first 60 days, you will work directly with operations, engineering, and systems teams to design how product will physically move through the facility and ensure processes are ready before the site goes live.

What You'll Be Doing

Your initial focus will include:

• Design and layout of parcel packing stations
• Design workflows for specialty processing operations including:
• Product labeling
• Cord printing
• Cut-to-length operations
• Develop the layout and workflow for wrapper and consolidation areas
• Design dock layouts based on projected inbound/outbound volume
• Develop process flows for international receiving operations
• Create detailed process documentation, SOPs, and standard work for warehouse operations
• Analyze operational data to identify capacity requirements, bottlenecks, labor needs, and process improvements
• Partner with operations and systems teams to prepare the facility for startup
• Provide Industrial Engineering support during the design and implementation of:
• Evaluate material flow and ensure automation, storage, receiving, processing, and shipping operations work together effectively
• Troubleshoot process and operational issues as the facility moves toward commissioning and startup

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of Industrial Engineering, Distribution Engineering, Process Engineering, or Continuous Improvement experience
• Strong background working within a warehouse, distribution center, fulfillment center, or logistics operation

• Experience working with systems from Daifuku, Mecalux, Dematic, Vanderlande, FORTNA, or similar automation providers
• Experience with high-volume parcel, pallet, or mixed-SKU distribution operations
• Previous ownership of facility layout, capacity planning, or material-flow design
