Job summary

Whirlpool Corporation seeks a Senior Industrial Engineer in Racine, WI to oversee ECN/ECR processes, set Direct Labor Standards, and improve product operation routings. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong data analysis and problem solving skills.
• Proficiency in reading quality docs, BOMs, and drawings.
• Project management experience preferred.
• MTM Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead ECN/ECR process as Manufacturing Engineering Lead.
• Create, execute, and maintain manufacturing operation routings.
• Establish Direct Labor Standards and Standard Data for cost reduction and safety.
• Assess current production to identify inefficiencies via data analysis, time studies, and metrics.
• Assist with new product line workstation development and MTM documentation.
• Design plant layouts, analyze workflows, and study indirect labor to improve flow.
• Evaluate capacity, forecast capital investments, and support divisional growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet goals.
• Prepare and defend capital appropriation requests; track budgets and cost reductions.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers with technical guidance.

Additionally, the Senior Industrial Engineer advances divisional growth and profitability by executing capacity analyses, managing capital projects, and overseeing the seamless integration of new products and manufacturing processes.Your responsibilities will includeSupport and lead the management of the ECN/ECR process as Manufacturing Engineering LeadDirect the creation, execution, and upkeep of manufacturing operation routings.Establish Direct Labor Standards and Standard Data through engineering methods analysis aimed at cost reduction and ergonomic safety enhancements.Evaluate current production processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement through data analysis, time studies, and performance metrics analysis.Assist with new product line work station development and MTM documentation.Conduct plant layout designs, workflow analyses, and Indirect Labor studies to enhance product flow efficiency.Optimize capacity, decrease work-in-progress, and minimize expenses by conducting data analyses and/or line balancing across multi-operational processes.Evaluate process capacity and generate forecasts to determine capital investments required to support divisional growth.Formulate resource requirements and cost estimates to facilitate the launch of new manufacturing processes or products.Collaborate within cross-functional teams, offering professional insights and technical direction to ensure team goals are met.Develop and defend Appropriation Requests for small- to mid-sized capital initiatives, tracking project budgets, execution, and cost-reduction performance.Mentor, coach, and provide technical consultation to junior engineering personnel.Minimum requirementsBachelor's degree.Strong competence in communication, planning, mathematics, data analysis, and computer applications.Proficiency in reading and interpreting quality documentation, bills of materials, and product drawings.Project management experience.3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.Proficient in process improvement methodologies, WCM (World Class Manufacturing), Lean, Six Sigma.Preferred skills and experiencesMethods-Time Measurement (MTM) CertificationPractical experience with CAD tools.Additional informationWhirlpool’s Ways of WorkingOur goal is to provide an environment that helps you bring your best to Whirlpool every day.
