Job summary

Universal Orlando Resort is seeking a results-driven professional to lead initiatives that improve efficiency and drive incremental revenue across operations. You will test new products, pricing strategies and sales techniques, establish baselines, monitor performance and report on key metrics.

Qualifications

Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Work on multiple, concurrent initiatives in order to provide significant value through increased efficiency or incremental revenue.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Test and implement new products, revenue management strategies and/or sales techniques. Test products, price and demand sensitivity, make recommendations and implement change to optimize profitability. Establish baseline historical performance, seasonality, transaction volume, revenue, penetration, per capita, pricing etc. Monitor ongoing performance, establish key performance tracking metrics.
  • Design and apply quantitative methods to operational problem sets and challenges; apply objective, structured analytic techniques to a range of complex scenarios; summarize and analyze multi-source data (structured and unstructured) as part of the analytic process.
  • Analyze operations and work flow to improve process efficiencies in theme park operations; establishes methods for maximum utilization of facilities and personnel. Conducts studies pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, sales processes, revenue opportunities and service processes and systems.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
SCOPE:

Initiatives and process improvement efforts can apply to any and all operating divisions within Universal Orlando Resort. Pricing applies to non-admission products (i.e. Express, Food, Merch, Vacations, etc.)

EDUCATION:
  • High school degree or GED is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Master’s degree is preferred (Master of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Management Science or equivalent)
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • The ability to work through complex problems
  • Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and oral formats.
  • Strong interpersonal, technical and presentation skills required.
