Job summary

GKN Aerospace is seeking a Senior Industrial Electrician to own the electrical infrastructure across a 9-building manufacturing campus. You will lead maintenance, reliability, and upgrades of power distribution, breakers, motor controls, and PLC-controlled equipment to support production and facility operations.

The role requires 7+ years of industrial electrician experience, NEC/NFPA 70E knowledge, and experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of industrial electrician experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or large facilities.
• Extensive experience with 480 VAC power distribution and industrial electrical infrastructure.
• Strong troubleshooting with motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, relays, and contactors.
• Experience planning upgrades, replacements, and shutdown activities.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
• Thorough understanding of NEC and NFPA 70E safety practices.
• Experience documenting work and maintaining asset records in a CMMS.
• Able to work independently as the site electrical SME.

Responsibilities

• Own maintenance, reliability, and performance of electrical systems across the campus.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain high voltage distribution and production-support systems.
• Lead electrical upgrades including breakers, disconnects, panels, transformers, MCCs, and distribution equipment.
• Plan shutdowns, tie-ins, and replacements minimizing operational impact.
• Conduct root-cause analysis of failures and implement corrective actions.
• Read schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Ensure NEC/NFPA 70E compliance and safety practices.
• Manage electrical contractors and vendors on projects.
• Maintain asset documentation in the CMMS and support installations.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for critical assets.
