Job summary

Interstates in Sioux Falls, SD is hiring a Senior Control Systems Developer to own sizable portions of control-system projects with minimal supervision. You will partner with project teams and customers to deliver reliable automation solutions.

Responsibilities include planning, programming, testing, startup, and training on control systems, with emphasis on PLC, HMI, PC configuration, or DB management. Hybrid flexibility may apply based on experience and needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or Associate’s degree in Instrumentation and Controls preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Control Systems Developer or equivalent.
• Industrial programming and control system implementation, including startup and commissioning.
• Strong programming knowledge in at least two of PLC, HMI, PC configuration, or database management.
• Ability to work independently on complex projects and communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Plan and design significant portions of control systems with minimal supervision.
• Define scope, functionality, reports, documentation, and startup support needs with project teams.
• Program, test, document, install, and start up complex industrial control systems.
• Provide advanced programming expertise in PLC, HMI, PC configuration, or database management.
• Train operators and develop programming standards across projects.
• Assist with project estimating and technical design reviews.
