Job summary

Kelley Construction, Inc. in Louisville, KY seeks a Construction Senior Project Manager for energy and infrastructure/industrial projects. The role oversees civil and concrete scopes, procurement, planning, budgeting and schedules, with leadership of project teams and subcontractors.

Responsibilities include cost control, risk and safety management, documentation, and client communication. Travel up to 20% and a full-time, first-shift schedule. Reports to the Operations Director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management.
• 5+ years industrial construction project management experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy, and/or Renewables.
• Must have large project, multi-million dollar, construction experience.
• Must be able to read and interpret engineered drawings, estimates, and work instructions.
• Ability to develop and lead employees and contract workforce.
• Possess a high-level of professionalism and confidentiality.
• Proficient with MS Office, MS Project and/ or Primavera, Bluebeam, AutoCAD and Procore.
• Ability to read, interpret and execute engineer drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish credibility and be decisive while recognizing and supporting the organization's preferences and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develops a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of projects.
• Oversees performance of all projects and timelines, including employees, contract trade workforce and any subcontractors.
• Oversees multiple projects up to and including 10M+ and/or of high complexity.
• Ensures compliance with drawings, specifications, and regulations.
• Will be responsible for proper administration of construction contracts and purchase orders.
• Responsible for ensuring full risk management, including the identification of potential risks and initiating treatments as appropriate.
• Reviews and responds to any safety concerns and/or infractions, to ensure that they are corrected and reported in a timely manner
• Tracks project schedule and ensures that projects stays within estimated timeline
• Controls construction cost, deliveries and schedule to achieve completion of project within budget allocation
• Manage the storage and organization of all project documents.
• Communicates with owners about progress and any necessary modifications of plans
• Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Travel as needed for control on assigned projects (less than 20%).
• Directs one or more Assistant Project Manager(s) / Project Engineer(s)
• Builds relationships with subcontractors and business partners in the market.
• Indirectly mentor Project Managers on effective resolution strategies.
• Provide input on execution strategies and schedule sequencing for bids as needed.
• Performs all other duties as assigned
