Position Summary
Under direct leadership, the Senior Indirect Buyer will be responsible for purchasing materials, supplies, equipment, and outside services the company needs to complete essential business functions and tracking and accelerating these materials and service requirements to support production of Singer’s vehicles and timely completion of projects. They are responsible for sourcing and qualifying vendors, negotiating pricing, planning purchased material supply, and placing purchase orders to fulfill demand. The goal is to ensure constant availability of non-inventory goods and/or services within the company’s budget in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”
Essential Functions
Procures goods and services for the company.Evaluates price, reliability, quality, technical support and availability of goods and services.Accountable for ensuring part master data within MRP is accurateWorks with current suppliers to follow up on and expedite open ordersGenerates purchase requisitions and place Purchase Orders with suppliers, to meet demandAccountable for on-time delivery of purchased material at (or below) planned costsNegotiates pricing with vendors to reduce total costManages suppliers for Cost, Quality, and DeliveryIdentifies constraints that may impact production schedules.Reviews purchase orders and shipping documents coordinating with receiving and accounting to ensure accuracy of all details and purchase order closureWorks in a cross-functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrates the ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company-wide goalsPerforms other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Required Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or other relevant fieldsFour (4) plus years of experience as Buyer, Purchasing Agent, Purchasing Specialist, GSM or equivalentProven ability to onboard and contract pricing agreements with suppliersKnowledge of procurement strategies, should cost models and technology roadmapsP2P knowledge is a plusProficient in MRP systems
Preferred Education/Experience and/or Certifications
Experience in aerospace or automotive manufacturingPrior experience in rapid growth environment

Compensation The starting salary range for this position is between $69,680 - 87,100 per year.
