Job summary

Texas Dow Employees Credit Union seeks a Sr. Indirect Consumer Loan Underwriter to evaluate and underwrite Indirect Auto and Specialty Lending with authority and high-level credit judgment.

You will guide underwriting teams, train new members, and improve processes while supporting dealer relationships and cross-functional initiatives. Strong knowledge of regulatory lending and credit risk is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of work experience in Consumer Loan or Indirect Underwriting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Indirect Auto and Specialty Lending products and underwriting guidelines.
• Advanced understanding of credit analysis including income verification, DTI, LTV, collateral, and risk assessment.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment within assigned authority, including complex scenarios and policy exceptions.
• Strong communication to explain decisions to dealers, internal teams, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite consumer loan applications in Indirect Lending (Auto and Specialty).
• Exercise independent lending authority with sound credit judgment.
• Review complex applications and manage elevated lending limits and exceptions.
• Communicate credit decisions clearly to dealers and internal teams.
• Serve as SME for Indirect Consumer Lending, providing guidance and training.
