Job summary

Rutgers University is seeking a Senior Incident Response Analyst to lead daily incident detection and response operations across Rutgers' networks, workstations, and servers. The role supports business units and participates in Rutgers' Integrated Incident Response Program.

The ideal candidate will monitor incidents, escalate complex cases, and apply analytic, investigative, and forensic expertise using SIEM, EDR, NGFW, DLP, and IPS/IDS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of information security experience.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, or security operations.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK and NIST Incident Response frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Monitor information security incidents across Rutgers' computing environment.
• Serve as escalation point for Incident Response Analysts.
• Provide expert-level analytic, investigative, and forensic support on complex security incidents.
• Advise business units across the university on security matters.
• Participate in all phases of incident response: prepare, detect, analyze, contain, eradicate, recover, and report.
• Use SIEM, EDR, NGFW, DLP, and IPS/IDS tools to detect and mitigate cyber threats.
