Job summary

Central Transport is hiring for an onsite leadership role at our Memphis, TN terminal. You will oversee dock operations, coach a team of drivers and dock staff, and ensure safe, efficient loading and dispatch under tight schedules.

The ideal candidate has a background in transportation operations, strong leadership and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high service levels.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing a team, preferably in transportation operations.
• Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
• Prior management, dispatch or dock experience, preferably in LTL trucking industry.
• Strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees.
• Willing to work 50 hours/week on average and cover flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations for designated section of the terminal dock.
• Manage forklift traffic and oversee proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and trailer weight.
• Provide leadership to drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production and ensure KPI goals are met or exceeded.
• Maintain safety and compliance with DOT/OSHA standards.
