Legatis, backed by Obra Capital, is hiring an Asbestos Claims Attorney to lead claims and litigation strategy across our portfolio. This senior, independent role reports to the executive team and spans intake through resolution of long-tail liabilities.

You will interface with defense counsel, manage defenses, select outside counsel, and advise senior management on settlements, while leading due diligence on acquisitions and evaluating claims exposures within a fully in-house team.

Qualifikationen

• Admission to at least one state bar.
• 10+ years defending long-tail product liability or asbestos claims.
• Strong knowledge of asbestos claims, coverage experience, and risk assessment.

Aufgaben

• Interface with defense counsel on toxic tort litigation and settlement strategy.
• Manage the overall defense and resolution of claims within the company’s liability portfolio.
• Select and supervise litigation vendors and outside counsel.
• Evaluate claims and advise senior management on settlements or trial strategy.
• Advise senior management on legal developments that may affect value or resolution of claims.
• Lead due diligence on potential acquisitions, including assessment of claims exposures.
• Manage relationships with commercial insurers and allocate defense/indemnity costs.
• Manage claim intake and supervise claims vendors.
