Job summary

Dolby is seeking a highly skilled imaging software engineer to design and implement cutting-edge imaging and video algorithms across devices. You will prototype new technologies, optimize performance, and collaborate in Agile teams with QA to ensure robust releases.

Ideal candidates have strong C/C++ skills, experience with GPU acceleration (OpenGL/Vulkan/CUDA/OpenCL), and familiarity with ML deployment. HDR knowledge (Dolby Vision) is a plus, and MATLAB-to-C/C++ porting is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering with an emphasis and passion for multimedia technologies.
• Experience in coding with C and C++.
• Understanding of C/C++ code optimizations to accelerate on CPU processors using multithreading or SIMD instructions.
• Windows or Linux development experience is required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience in video and image processing is a plus.
• Experience accelerating C/C++ code on GPU using OpenGL/Vulkan/Direct3D is a plus.
• Experience with CUDA/OpenCL for GPU compute is a plus.
• Experience deploying ML algorithms in production is a plus.
• Experience with ONNX runtimes/inference is a plus.
• OpenCV/OpenMP is a plus.
• MATLAB-to-C/C++ porting is a plus.
• Python expertise is a plus.
• Exposure to Perforce or Git and Jira.
• Knowledge of video technologies and HDR (Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop innovative Dolby Imaging/Video algorithms and software.
• Contribute to new technical architectures across ecosystems and device categories.
• Prototype imaging technologies and productize them into high-performance libraries.
• Implement performance optimization of algorithms.
• Work in a fast-paced Agile team and collaborate with QA for test environments.
• Follow best practices for source control, CI, automated testing, and release management.
• Produce and maintain useful documentation of your work.
