Job summary

KARL STORZ in Goleta, CA seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer – Imaging Systems to lead the design and analysis of high-speed analog and digital circuits for advanced medical imaging and camera systems.

You will work with SoCs, FPGAs, image sensors, and high-speed interfaces, guiding projects from modeling through prototype validation to production release, while collaborating with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure reliability and manufacturing readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in mixed-signal design or related field; 9+ years in analog/digital system design (or Master’s with 7+ years).
• Experience designing complex analog/digital/mixed-signal circuits.
• Strong knowledge of high-speed analog/digital electronics and signal integrity.
• Proficiency with schematic tools such as Altium Designer.
• Experience with SPICE, HyperLynx or equivalents.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of complex high-speed analog/digital/mixed-signal circuits.
• Model, analyze, and simulate imaging system components.
• Evaluate tolerances, signal integrity, thermal performance, reliability.
• Research and develop novel circuit designs and packaging tech.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize layouts and manufacturability.
• Design and implement test fixtures and validation procedures.
• Provide leadership in EMC, electrical safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Support sustaining engineering and corrective actions.
• Lead design reviews and document engineering activities.
• Mentor colleagues and drive continuous improvement.
