Description

Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Imagery Scientist (Spectral) to join our team in Springfield, VA.

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

1. Collect, process data, and perform data analysis.
2. Integrate, centralize, protect, and maintain data in DBMS.
3. Clean, massage, and organize data.
4. Perform ad hoc analysis and present results clearly.
5. Communicate complex quantitative analysis effectively using storytelling and visualization.
6. Create, deploy, and maintain cloud applications to support data migration and production processes.
7. Develop tools to extract features data and meta-data from various sources, including raster, vector, and text databases.
8. Write and maintain Python scripts in ArcGIS to improve production efficiency.
9. Support Business Process Re-engineering.
10. Perform data conversion and migration.
11. Conduct Business Analytics.

Basic Qualifications

• Typically requires a BA degree with 8–12 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 6–10 years of experience.
• BSc in image science, remote sensing, earth science, etc., with 3+ years of image processing and scientific analysis of spectral data (phenomenology, correction, sensor design, ENVI, ERDAS Imagine, civil & commercial sources).
• Proficiency in IDL, Java, MATLAB, Python, R.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree.
• Experience developing and delivering course materials (live & recorded).
• Skills in tool/software development, chemistry, atmospheric science, GIS (ArcGIS).
• Experience with Amazon C2S, PKIs.
• Knowledge of manmade lights in optics/remote sensing contexts.
