Job summary

Kong is seeking a senior identity platform engineer to design and implement advanced token management and a scalable identity infrastructure for global developers. You will lead the extensible claims engine, support dynamic attribute resolution, and optimize for sub-millisecond authentication latency across regions.

You will mentor teams, shape Kong Identity's developer experience, and drive security, compliance, and observability integrations across the platform.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building production identity platforms at leading providers or enterprise software.
• Deep expertise in OAuth 2.0 extensions (PKCE, mTLS, JWT) and secure token design.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced token management systems with real-time revocation.
• Lead development of an extensible claims engine and contextual evaluation at token issuance.
• Architect global identity infrastructure with edge optimization and cross-region replication.
• Build rate limiting, anomaly detection, and fraud prevention for credential protection.
• Develop enterprise identity federation, including SAML bridge patterns and adapters.
• Drive Kong Identity developer experience with SDKs, webhooks, and analytics dashboards.
• Oversee client management systems with dynamic registration and policy enforcement.
• Shape plugin architecture for custom grant flows and third-party integrations.
• Lead compliance initiatives (SOC 2, FedRAMP, GDPR) with audit trails and data controls.
• Integrate Kong Identity with observability platforms for tracing and security events.
• Mentor teams on zero-trust, workload identity, and service mesh integration.
