Job summary

Thrive Global, a behavior change technology company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Identity team to design and operate systems underpinning sign-up, authentication, and identity across Thrive products. This role serves as the front door for employee sign-in across 200+ enterprise customers.

This position blends startup speed with engineering craft, requires ownership, and involves on-call support, while coordinating with US hours and an Ireland-based team.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or relevant work experience.
• Senior-level engineering with end-to-end ownership of production systems.
• Strong Java/Kotlin and TypeScript with balance between reliability and new features.
• Experience building and supporting B2B/enterprise software.
• Experience with on-call rotations and incident response.
• Daily overlap with US Eastern business hours and Ireland team.
• Experience with identity protocols: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM.
• Experience integrating with enterprise identity providers (Okta/Entra Ping) and debugging SSO in production.
• Security-sensitive or regulated environments (SOC 2, HIPAA).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end identity platform—design, build, and ship the software that onboards, authenticates and authorizes users.
• Scope and deliver medium-to-large projects with minimal hand-holding.
• Collaborate with Product to translate requirements and surface trade-offs.
• Maintain high quality with fast iteration while avoiding shortcuts.
• Provide on-call support during US business hours to keep the platform healthy and customers supported.
