Job summary

LightEdge Solutions in Des Moines, IA is seeking an experienced IBMi-SR Engineer to design, implement, and support the IBMi platform across multiple partitions and environments. You will handle system configuration, backups, recovery, and on-call support, ensuring high availability and security across Power systems.

Primary duties include managing BRMS/FSFC workflows, PTFs, and interfacing with NOC for complex issue resolutions, with an emphasis on reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years hands-on IBM Power/IBMi administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with high availability and clustering software (MIMIX, iTerra, PowerHA).
• Familiarity with BRMS/FSFC backup strategies and tape libraries.
• Strong TCP/IP networking knowledge and OS400 security.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support IBMi (iSeries-AS/400) platform components.
• Maintain and deploy OS upgrades and PTF installations.
• Design/maintain IBMi backups using BRMS, FSFC, and VTL; manage tape libraries.
