Job summary

JTEKT North America is seeking a Quality/IA lead to own the internal audit program, manage documentation, and drive change control in a manufacturing setting. This role ensures IATF 16949 certification readiness across processes and shifts, coordinating with multiple departments to sustain compliance.

The ideal candidate will have an IATF 16949 internal auditor certification, experience leading audits, and strong MS Office/QMS skills, with willingness to travel as needed to support

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent manufacturing experience.
• Direct experience in an IATF 16949-certified plant with internal audit exposure.
• IATF 16949 internal auditor certification is required; lead auditor training preferred.
• Experience planning and executing an internal audit program.
• Familiarity with AIAG core tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, 8D).
• Experience working with CSRs and external registrar/customer led audits.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the internal audit program and annual schedule.
• Lead audit readiness for IATF 16949 certification, surveillance, and customer audits.
• Drive root cause analysis and effectiveness verification for audit findings.
• Own controlled quality system documentation: procedures, work instructions, forms, records, revision history, and retention.
• Lead management of change (MOC) for manufacturing changes and related quality documentation.
• Track 8D CAPA status and closure within the CAPA system; flag overdue items.
• Prepare QMR materials and distribute meeting minutes with action items.
• Maintain QMS databases/tracking tools and flag data integrity gaps.
• Act as key contact for external registrars and customer auditors.
