Job summary

Audubon is seeking an I&E Designer in Metairie, LA to draft detailed drawings of instrument and electrical systems. You will size cables, develop control circuits, perform photometric calculations, and prepare BOMs and specs. You’ll revise drawings per changes and support field surveys.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of experience, AutoCAD, PDMS, and familiarity with oil & gas projects. Collaboration with clients and vendors is essential to deliver on schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s Degree from a Technical Institution preferred.
• 7+ years of experience preferred.
• AutoCAD software experience required.
• PDMS software experience preferred.
• Microsoft Office software experience preferred.
• CARS software experience preferred.
• Field experience preferred.
• Experience in oil & gas, onshore gas processing, hydrocarbon storage and transportation, chemical manufacturing or refining industry required.
• Small/Medium project lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts, designs and working drawings including projections, sectional views and specifications.
• Interpret verbal or written direction to initiate a preliminary design.
• Perform sizing and electrical load calculations such as cable sizing, conduit sizing, voltage drop, and cable tray using charts and tables.
• Develop or assist in the development of control circuits for instrument components and motors.
• Perform and/or review lighting photometric calculations and control.
• Prepare BOMs and specifications; revise lists as engineering changes occur.
• Implement revisions and change control per company standards.
• Assemble information and reference drawings from various sources.
• Continually seek product improvements and cost reductions.
• Determine and initiate drawings/models based on optimal views for construction.
