Job summary

Zachry Group in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer to lead design and delivery of I&C systems for power-industry projects. You will craft control narratives, I/O lists, and data sheets for DCS/PLC and CEMS, supervise a small team, and ensure technical quality across office and field work.

The role requires a strong background in instrument and control systems, 10+ years of experience, and travel to job sites as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited program.
10+ years of instrumentation and controls experience in the power industry.
Experience with distributed control systems (ABB, Emerson Ovation, Siemens T3000, MarkVIe, GE MicroNet).
Knowledge of control systems for gas boilers and turbines.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the production of instrumentation engineering deliverables (I/O lists, control narratives).
Design and review control systems (DCS/PLC) and CEMS data sheets.
Supervise engineers or technicians as needed and coordinate project tasks.
Apply I&C engineering principles and industry codes to project work.
Direct drafting for controls systems and ensure quality assurance of documents.
