A private firm owned by a group controlling $6 billion in assets, with a 15-year tenure in technology and real estate development, Prime provides customers with ownership options and dynamic leasing models, defining a true corporate partnership.

About the role

The Senior Hyperscale Data Center Solutions Engineer reports to the VP of Solutions Engineering and functions as a senior technical authority and trusted advisor to Prime’s Hyperscale customer base. This role directs the evaluation, engineering design, and implementation of large, complex, build-to-suit data center technical solutions across construction-based programs, with primary emphasis on Hyperscale accounts.

The role carries lead responsibility for opportunities originating from RFPs/RFIs and direct client engagement, partnering closely with the EVP of Sales and collaborating cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Delivery, Construction, Operations, and Marketing to produce technically rigorous, accurate, and commercially compelling proposals. The ideal candidate brings substantive, hands-on experience engaging Hyperscale customers and a working command of their technical evaluation criteria, procurement processes, and organizational culture.

What you’ll do
Technical Solutioning & Customer Engagement
  • Serve as senior technical lead for Hyperscale customer engagements, engineering and specifying data center solutions aligned to customer technical requirements and commercial objectives.
  • Lead cross-functional response teams in the technical evaluation and disposition of RFP/RFI requirements, ensuring engineering accuracy and completeness across all submissions.
  • Act as principal technical advisor to Hyperscale clients, presenting Prime’s solution architecture, delivery methodology, and capabilities in a manner consistent with Hyperscale technical evaluation and procurement culture.
  • Interpret and present Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis outputs to clients, translating thermal and airflow modeling results into clear, decision-relevant technical narratives.
  • Conduct client-facing Bluebeam markup sessions to review design documents, coordinate revisions, and drive technical alignment in real time.
  • Explain on-site power generation architecture, capacity planning, and resiliency design to clients in support of technical due diligence.
Program & Delivery Support
  • Support construction and implementation teams to ensure on-schedule delivery of customer contractual commitments.
  • Monitor Total Facility Operations (TFO) project costs and schedules against contractual baselines, flagging variances proactively.
  • Attend recurring development status reviews and issue weekly progress summaries to Sales leadership to maintain alignment on business objectives.
  • Coordinate with Procurement to reconcile anticipated, required, and ordered Owner-Furnished/Contractor-Installed (OFCI) equipment, assessing impacts to active opportunities and site development timelines.
  • Coordinate with Procurement to sequence OFCI equipment orders for just-in-time delivery aligned to project schedules.
  • Obtain and process OFCI equipment submittals to support design specification and approval workflows on assigned projects.
Content, Knowledge Management & Enablement
  • Develop technical content and thought leadership for sales presentations, industry conferences, publications, and digital platforms in partnership with the Marketing team.
  • Maintain and continuously refine the internal library of RFP technical responses and specification documents used across the proposal lifecycle.
  • Own PowerPoint deliverables specific to Solutions Engineering subject matter for internal and client-facing use.
  • Maintain Salesforce records reflecting available capacity and footprint across existing company facilities.
  • Maintain Salesforce records tracking potential development properties and acquisitions, including current status.
  • Mentor junior Solutions Engineers on Hyperscale engagement methodology, technical solutioning, and proposal development practices.
Design & Sourcing Support
  • Travel to company sites, customer facilities, and OEM manufacturing locations to maintain strong technical relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Partner with the design team to evaluate category spend management opportunities, supply market and commodity trends, and applicable KPIs for designers, contractors, and professional service providers.
  • Support development of RFP packages for TFO design and contracting services, and help structure competitive sourcing events that secure commercial value, mitigate risk, and lock in performance requirements protecting the company’s interests.
  • Maintain and continuously expand technical fluency in MEP systems, civil and structural engineering, architecture, and commissioning as applied to data center development.
  • Maintain and continuously expand technical fluency in facility BMS/EPMS/DCIM platforms and security operational processes and policy.
