Job summary

SimplyHired is seeking an experienced Hydrographic Surveyor with offshore and dredging exposure to support global projects. The role is remote and focuses on hydrographic and topographic measurements across all project phases.

You will install and calibrate devices, map seabed and bathymetry, measure dredging volumes, process data, and report progress to the project team. A degree in engineering, hydrography or topography with 5+ years' experience and familiarity with AutoCAD or Qinsy are

Involved in dredging and offshore projects worldwide, the survey team is responsible for the organisation of all hydrographic and topographic measurements across all phases of the works. We're seeking, on behalf of our client, experienced Hydrographic Surveyors with a strong background in offshore and/or dredging activities.

Your responsibilities

• Installation and calibration of measurement devices to ensure accuracy.
• Mapping the seabed, measuring water depths (bathymetry), and providing precise positioning for construction, such as oil rigs or wind farms.
• Measuring actual dredging volumes.
• Processing and interpreting measurement results using cutting-edge techniques.
• Mapping the results using specific software.
• Reporting the progress of the works to the project management team.

Your profile

• A qualified engineer, hydrographer or topographer, ideally with a specialisation in survey.
• A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience as a hydrographic surveyor.
• Practical knowledge of modern measurement techniques and familiarity with AutoCAD, Qinsy or similar software.
• An exceptional eye for detail and a commitment to high-quality standards and safety protocols.
• Flexibility to work in a rotational system (2:1 for dredging activities or 1:1 for offshore activities) across global locations.
